No, your speakers (or headphones) aren't broken. The intro of this song was meant to sound like a really cheap 45 styrene single. That's why you hear some awful distortion on the kick and high notes in the beginning.
I used one of the few pieces of analog gear I kept on the guitar, the Roland RE-201 (aka Space Echo). The high pitched vocals were sampled from an LP and it took me forever to get the pitch right and get the rest of the instruments removed from it. Kudos if you somehow manage to pick out what song it is.
This song originally came after "Neon Lights" but I moved it to the end since it was suggested to be a closer and due to vinyl mastering concerns. I still get a bit confused after Neon Lights since I'm so used to its original position.
